

Ophthalmologist
Dr. Shan C. Lin is an ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery and the use of lasers and ultrasound biomicroscopy, a type of eye exam that creates a more detailed image than conventional ultrasound. In his research, Lin studies new medications for the treatment of progressive glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
Shin earned a medical degree at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed a residency and fellowship in ophthalmology at UCSF Medical Center. He is an active member in several medical and scientific societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He serves on the Glaucoma Panel of the Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a reviewer for the Journal of Glaucoma and British Journal of Ophthalmology. He is an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology at UCSF.
