This support group is open to graduates of the Stop Smoking classes provided by the Fontana Tobacco Treatment Center. All graduates, even those who haven't yet stopped smoking, are welcome to attend. This group helps participants stay smoke free or help work toward that goal. Many find the support group is key to their ongoing success.
Facilitators are available to answer questions related to medications for smoking cessation and to assist with appropriate tapering of medications. Having a structured group to attend on a regular basis has made it possible for participants to learn how to rebuild a life without cigarettes.
Sessions are led by registered nurses who are former smokers and peer counselors who have been smoke free for years.
A $5 weekly donation is requested but not required.
