
Genetic counselor
Vicki Cox is a genetic counselor at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and UCSF Medical Center, where she has worked since 1982. She sees patients and their families in the General Genetics Clinic and the NF/Ras Pathway Clinic as well as in the hospital to provide counseling to those affected with or at risk for genetic disorders.
Cox earned a master's degree in genetic counseling at the University of California at Irvine and a bachelor's degree in psychology at Colorado College. In addition to caring for patients, she provides clinical supervision to genetic counseling trainees. Cox is board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and American Board of Genetic Counseling and is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
