Alissa Sanchez, DPT

Physical therapist

Alissa Sanchez is a physical therapist who treats patients of all ages who have a range of orthopedic conditions, balance disorders and musculoskeletal needs following surgery. Sanchez has additional training in dance medicine, postural restoration, neuromuscular assessment and manual therapy, or using hands-on techniques to improve movement and function.

Sanchez practices a multifaceted approach to rehabilitation that emphasizes therapeutic exercise, postural and core stability, manual therapy, movement re-training and patient education. She partners with her patients to help meet their individual goals. Her professional interests include performing arts medicine, injury prevention and physical therapy in primary care.

Sanchez earned a bachelor's degree in neuroscience and dance from Pomona College. She earned her physical therapy doctorate from a joint program between San Francisco State University and UCSF.

Sanchez is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association's special interest groups for orthopedics and performing arts. In her free time, Sanchez enjoys performing and attending musical theater, taking dance and Zumba classes, listening to oldies songs and doing karaoke.
