Obstetrics, Gynecology & Perinatal Specialties at Mission Bay – Fourth Street

UCSF Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatal Specialties at Mission Bay – Fourth Street offers services related to pregnancy and female reproductive health for patients of all ages. In addition to well-woman gynecologic care, we provide consultations and continuing care for a wide spectrum of conditions and concerns, including menopause symptoms, pelvic pain, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids (myomas), abnormal cervical cancer screening test results, vulvar abnormalities, menstrual complaints, and pediatric and adolescent gynecologic disorders.

Our providers want to be sure patients receive the care that's most appropriate for them, so they emphasize personalized treatments and collaborative decision-making.

Our obstetricians are experienced in managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies and are knowledgeable about genetic testing. One of the benefits of UCSF obstetric care is that you can find a provider to suit your pregnancy, whether that’s a midwife or an obstetrician. And because our high-risk pregnancy specialists at the Center for Complex Obstetric Medicine work alongside our clinic’s providers as one team, specialty care can be delivered seamlessly when needed. Patients also have access to all pregnancy-related resources at UCSF.

The UCSF Birth Center is state of the art and family oriented. All birthing suites are private and have a bathroom with a spa-style bathtub, a dedicated family area, and a media wall for educational materials and entertainment. Patients typically go through labor, deliver their baby and recover in the suite. After recovery, the birthing parent and baby move to a private postpartum room with its own bathroom and shower, as well as a dedicated family area with Wi-Fi and a sleeper sofa. For newborns who need special medical attention, we have one of the nation's finest intensive care nurseries. It's certified by the state of California as a regional intensive care nursery, meaning it provides all levels of newborn care.
