Acute Care Clinic at Montgomery Street

(415) 502-2602

The UCSF Acute Care Clinic at Montgomery Street is staffed with board-certified physicians and open for treatment of urgent medical problems on a same-day basis. Our medical office, located near the Embarcadero between Fisherman's Wharf and the Financial District, offers convenient walk-in appointments for adults 18 and older. We have on-site X-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiography and blood testing services. Whether you're dealing with a sprained ankle or a sinus infection, our team helps you get the care you need quickly.

We also offer same-day appointments, which can usually be made by phone. Walk-in patients may choose the next available appointment or schedule one later in the day if it's more convenient. For certain conditions, a video visit can be scheduled.

You can also receive care at the UCSF Acute Care Clinic at Parnassus.

We are not an emergency room, so if you think you might be experiencing a life-threatening emergency or are having symptoms such as serious shortness of breath, chest pain or sudden paralysis of your arms or legs, call 911 immediately or go directly to the nearest emergency room.

Insurance and Self-Pay

Insurance coverage: We accept most major health insurance plans. Please note that we collect Office Visit co-pay amounts at the time of service. Your insurer can also tell you whether your plan requires that you pay an annual deductible before it pays for your visits.

Self-pay visits: If you’re planning to pay for your visit yourself, our office staff will collect a deposit due at the time of your appointment. We offer several convenient ways to pay, including:

  • MasterCard/Visa
  • American Express
