The RunSafe Clinic is for runners of all levels — from the novice to the seasoned competitor — and gives participants a unique, comprehensive and holistic analysis of their running. Our sports medicine specialists provide counseling and a biomechanical assessment of your running and training patterns to help you learn to prevent injuries and practice safe training methods.

A parking lot is available adjacent to 1500 Owens St.

Parking fees are:

  • First hour $3
  • Two hours $5
  • Each additional hour $3
  • More than seven hours $24
  • After 6 p.m., $2 flat rate

Patients with disabled placards or license plates pay $3 for the first hour and $5 for up to 24 hours.

Parking fees are paid in advance at one of three kiosks. The kiosks accept cash (coins and bills up to $10) and credit cards (Visa and MasterCard).

Parking garages are available nearby, at 1625 Owens St. and at 1630 Third St., at higher hourly rates.


Your RunSafe assessment will take about two hours, during which you'll be assessed by each member of our team, including a biomechanist, physical therapist, sports dietitian and orthotics and prosthetics specialists.

Based on your assessment, you'll receive a report with detailed findings and recommendations on how to improve your running and training, including pictures of suggested exercises and training drills. You'll also receive a DVD of your running gait analysis. Your assessment will include:

  • Video Gait Analysis: Your running biomechanics will be evaluated from multiple camera angles with computerized motion analysis software by our highly trained biomechanists.
  • Strength and Flexibility Assessment: Our physical therapist will evaluate your functional strength and flexibility, using focused assessment techniques.
  • Nutritional Analysis and Counseling: Our registered sports medicine dietitian will discuss your nutritional habits and make personalized recommendations that support your athletic goals.
  • Foot Dynamics and Footwear Assessment: Your foot shape and dynamics, as well as your footwear, will be assessed by certified orthotics and prosthetics experts.
  • Debriefing and Recommendations: We'll discuss the results with you and provide a personalized report card, outlining the findings and recommendations from our team.
