Dr. Pettigrew does a great job of always asking if I have more questions. It makes me feel like he really cares about me as a person!

Outstanding First Impression

Dr. Pettigrew was really great. He listened to my questions and answered all of them. He explained everything so that I better understood the reason why we were doing the procedure and what the potential outcomes were. He got it done quickly and efficiently and he and the nurse were attentive to my well being and comfort throughout.

Dr Pettigrew never told me my fallopian tubes were being removed. He got sick and I ended up having someone else do the surgery and I didn't find out about the fallopian tube removed until a half hour before surgery by the new doctor

Surgical options were not provided or discussed and it seems decisions would have been made for me if I had not done my own research and pushed back at a follow up appointment. To not explain ALL the surgical options a patient has in the case of a hysterectomy feels a bit unethical

I carefully explained my issue to my provider what tests I have taken and the length of time. The provider did not ask me any clarifying questions did not ask me to point to my area of pain nor recommended any treatments without me specifically asking. I was told that my issue could be "neurological" which felt like a polite way of being told it was all in my head. I made a point to share that this was my third provider since I was dismissed before and I left feeling the same way.

I felt completely invalidated by this doctor. He didn't listen to me. I expressed worry over the pain I've felt from several ovarian cysts and he showed no concern and basically told me it wasn't a big deal. I walked out with no clarity and no idea what to do next. This was the worst experience I've had with a doctor.

I had a very positive experience with Dr. Pettigrew. I feel like I have a good care plan moving forward.

I would recommend Dr. Pettigrew to everyone. He was friendly knowledgeable and very delicate during the procedure. He listened to and answered all questions I had about my condition. It was as pleasant as a doctor's visit could be

The appointment was swift which was a good thing though it didn't allow time for discussion about follow up care or alternative treatment. I was pleased with the provider and nurses care.

He seemed to have planed to spend 5-10 minutes with me for other urgent thing next.He rushed to wrap up I had to walk to follow him to ask something when he was to leave the room.The nurse has written down the reason why I visit today but he seems not to read it before he met me. He even didn't ask me If I have any other question. The over all of his attitude was such shallow I had difficult time to focus on to explain my health issue.Most of ucsf staffs are professional and take patient's concerns seriously to be a help or to let me understand what is my situation.Dr. Pettigrew was exception. If he is like this with other patients as well as with me I will advise them not to schedule with him.

Dr. Pettigrew was awesome! Initially I was nervous about having a male doctor but he made me feel very comfortable. He was super professional humble polite understanding and patient. Especially since I had so many questions and concerns. I look forward to continuing my health care with this doctor. He was excellent!!! I also felt even more comfortable knowing that he is a Doctor of color. I felt like he understood me even more.

I would have liked to hear more about the after care for the surgery we were discussing
