Justine Underhill, L.C.S.W.

Social worker

Justine Underhill is a licensed clinical social worker with the Young Adult and Family Center (YAFC) at UCSF's Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute. She specializes in family therapy and the treatment of eating disorders. She is the director of education and outreach for YAFC's Intensive Family Therapy Program, and oversees the program's partnership with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Underhill is also a member of the volunteer faculty at UCSF, and teaches the family therapy didactic for the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. She is clinical director of the UCSF Eating Disorders Program.

Underhill holds her undergraduate degree from Brown University. She earned a master's degree in education at Harvard University and a master's in social work at San Francisco State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Association of Family Therapists of Northern California, the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the Academy of Eating Disorders.
