Kelsey McClelland

Genetic counselor

Kelsey McClelland is a genetic counselor who treats patients with conditions affecting their metabolism, with an emphasis on errors of metabolism and lysosomal storage diseases. She also coordinates genetic disease screenings for newborns.

McClelland's research focuses on treatment and quality-of-life improvements for patients with rare genetic diseases, particularly those born with metabolism problems.

A clinical instructor of pediatrics at UCSF, McClelland received her Master of Science in genetic counseling from California State University Stanislaus, followed by a fellowship in lysosomal storage diseases at UCSF.

She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, the American Board of Genetic Counseling and the American Society of Human Genetics.
