Dr. Maria Byron is an internist and primary care doctor.

Byron works to design and implement informatics solutions that support quality improvement, data science, doctor job satisfaction, patient experience and enhanced outpatient care. Her current efforts include a deep dive into UCSF clinic practices to optimize the use of electronic health records and work flow. Byron's research focuses on improving outpatient care through information science.

Byron received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. She then completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF.

Byron is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine. She is an assistant professor of medicine at UCSF.
