The Diabetes Center at UCSF and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) are holding their 16th Annual Northern California Diabetes Symposium on Friday, April 19, at the Laurel Heights Campus.

This full-day research symposium will feature a diverse group of basic science researchers and diabetes clinicians from throughout Northern California. Representatives from a number of biotech firms will also be presenting. This symposium is one of the first regional educational programs to be sponsored by UCSF since Jeffrey Bluestone joined the faculty as the director of the Diabetes Center.

Posters/abstracts will be presented at the symposium. To encourage young investigators, a monetary award of $500 will be given to the top poster presenter who is within 10 years of his/her last degree. All posters and accompanying abstracts will be published in Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics.

Due to support from event sponsors, including Animas Corporation, Deltagen, Inc., LifeScan, Inc. and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, registration fees have been waived. Pre-registration is required.
