UCSF Medical Center is hosting an open house on Thursday, Oct. 25 as a preview of the patient rooms under construction at the Mission Bay hospital complex.

The open house of mocked-up hospital rooms will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cardiovascular Research Institute, 555 Mission Bay Blvd. South in San Francisco.

With 289 beds under construction for the children's, women's specialty and cancer hospitals, the medical center designed state-of-the-art hospital rooms and then created mock ups of the rooms to ensure the design ideas were optimal for patient care and safety.

As part of the open house, remarks will be made by:

  • Mark R. Laret, CEO of UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital
  • Kim Scurr, executive director of UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and Hospital Operations Planning at Mission Bay
  • Cindy Lima, executive director of the Mission Bay Hospitals Project for UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital
