New UCSF Hepatobiliary Service for Cancer and Benign Disease

The incidence of liver cancer is rising in the United States. To deliver better care for these patients, UCSF Medical Center established the Hepatobiliary Service, which provides comprehensive treatment for primary and metastatic cancers of the liver, gallbladder and bile duct as well as benign liver disease.

Wraparound Project for Violence Prevention

Patients, who experience gang violence or other life-threatening injury, often realize while in the hospital that they need to turn their lives around but don't know how to make the change. UCSF's Wraparound Project is one of the nation's first hospital-based violence prevention programs that strives to break the cycle of violence.

Coordinated Evaluation and Treatment for Endocrine Surgery

The UCSF Endocrine Surgery Oncology Clinic provides a full range of care — from evaluation to treatment — for conditions related to the adrenal glands, lymph nodes, parathyroid and thyroid. The high-volume center performs more than 700 endocrine operations a year.
