Easing Referrals for Complex Trauma Patients

The Orthopaedic Trauma Service at UCSF Medical Center makes it easier for referring physicians to speed acute-to-acute transfers for complex trauma patients. Once there, patients have access to a multidisciplinary team that includes orthopaedic, general, neuro and plastic surgeons, along with physician assistants and nurse practitioners specially trained in trauma care.
