Angela Johns is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients receiving treatments for cancer, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy (which uses various substances to stimulate patients' own immune systems to fight their cancer). She manages her patients' symptoms and provides support and education throughout treatment.

Johns earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills and a master's degree in nursing from Duke University School of Nursing. She also has a master's degree in public administration from the University of San Francisco. She is a certified oncology nurse practitioner.

Johns was born in Scotland and has lived all over the world, including Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn, Chapel Hill and the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been an oncology nurse for more than 30 years.
