Danielle Krieger is a nurse practitioner who evaluates and cares for patients who will be receiving anesthesia. Her expertise also includes caring for patients after they undergo kidney transplantation, especially managing the needs of transplant patients as they transition from pediatric to adult care. She is a leading resource for the transplant community and an advocate for her fellow advanced practice providers (a category of health care professionals with the training to perform many services usually provided by doctors).
Krieger earned a master's degree in the adult nurse practitioner program at Columbia University School of Nursing. She is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and serves as co-chair of its advanced practice providers community. She is also a member of the International Transplant Nurses Society and Women in Transplantation. She serves on UCSF's advisory board for advanced practice providers as well as on national organ transplant boards.
