Diana L. Dawson

Diana Dawson is a pediatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist. She has particular expertise in caring for children with lung conditions, including asthma, as well as adults with cystic fibrosis. She provides assessments, treatment recommendations and education for patients, and helps coordinate their care. She helped develop and establish the UCSF Asthma Program. In addition, she provides consultative support to other nurses caring for patients with lung conditions.

Dawson assists in medical research and, in particular, coordinates the care of infants identified through California's cystic fibrosis newborn screening program.

Dawson earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Kent State University. She received her master's degree and certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner from the UCSF School of Nursing.
