Dr. Stephanie Cham is a gynecologic oncologist, a specialist in treating cancers of the female reproductive organs. She is passionate about providing patients with high-quality surgical care and about teaching medical students how to deliver this care.

Cham joined UCSF as a National Institutes of Health scholar focused on women's reproductive health and how to best provide cancer care, particularly for frail and elderly patients. Her research often focuses on improving care around the time of surgery for patients with gynecologic cancers, particularly in vulnerable populations. She specifically looks at how new technologies and other health care services influence patient outcomes. Her research has been presented at national conferences and published in major medical journals.

Cham earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York – Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center.
