About me
Dr. Alfredo Aguirre is a rheumatologist who cares for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). His research interests include health care disparities in lupus treatment and the pharmacology of lupus drugs. He also leads clinical trials to evaluate new therapies for SLE and lupus nephritis (a complication of lupus affecting the kidneys).
Aguirre earned his medical degree from Emory University. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at UCSF.
