Dr. David Gardner is an endocrinologist who cares for patients with endocrine and metabolic diseases. He is chief of the UCSF Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.
In his research, Gardner studies hormonal regulation of cardiovascular and kidney function. In particular, he has examined the role that vitamin D plays in the heart and circulatory system.
Gardner earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health.
