Dr. Dean Chou is a neurosurgeon who specializes in complex spine surgery. He cares for patients with spinal deformities, including scoliosis, kyphosis, kyphoscoliosis and flatback syndrome. He also treats spinal tumors and degenerative conditions of the spine, such as spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgical techniques for complex spinal disorders.

After earning his medical degree at UCSF, Chou completed a residency in neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship in complex spinal surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute.

Chou has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, Neurosurgery and PLOS ONE. He has been invited to lecture on advances in spine surgery at national and international courses and meetings. For 10 consecutive years, his peers selected him as one of the Best Doctors in America.
