About me

Dr. Insoo Suh is an endocrine surgeon specializing in diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. In patient care, his interests include applying minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy and robotics, to endocrine surgeries.

Suh has a bachelor of science degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University. He earned his medical degree from UCSF, and also completed his surgical residency and a research fellowship in endocrine surgery at UCSF. He then completed a fellowship in surgical innovation with the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign before joining UCSF's faculty.

Suh has received several awards recognizing his outstanding patient care and research, including UCSF's Fred H. and Esther E. Nusz Achievement Award and a science research award from the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He is an active associate member of several national organizations, including the American College of Surgeons and American Association of Endocrine Surgeons.

Suh has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters, and has served as an invited reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals. An inventor of medical innovations, he has several patent applications to his name and has received multiple grants to research and develop new technologies.
