About me

Dr. Joanna Yang is a radiation oncologist who cares for patients with breast cancer and lymphoma. In addition to patient care, she focuses her research and policy work on measures to improve long-term outcomes for all of her patients. Specifically, she looks at increasing treatment efficacy, minimizing side effects, ensuring the value and affordability of treatments, and exploring potential combinations of radiation therapy and new drugs.

Yang earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she graduated with distinction. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, she completed both a fellowship and a residency in radiation oncology, and served as chief resident. She earned her master's degree in public health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
