Krishna Patel

This is not what I expected at all from my annual check-up visit (and first after 3 years). The doctor showed minimal interest in my health was rushing and spitting words out with a speed of light. She mostly marginalized my problems didn't ask me at all how I have been doing. Because I wanted to ask her about follow up on my premature menopause and whether she finds two moles on my skin concerning (we ended up discussing these issues for 3 minutes at best) she said that we run out of time to take the PAP smear test and ordered me to schedule a separate visit to take it. This means I have to take another half day off from work to drive across town to see the doctor. I was just astonished by this all. I have been a patient at UCSF since I became a faculty member here in 2010. My kids are also patients here and we all had a share of our experiences with the UCSF health care system. My previous primary care physician who left to take another position was professional and made me feel well taken care off. She was busy and I never abused her time but she never rushed me and paid attention to my questions. I am seriously considering switching providers after this experience.

I wish there was more communication after my visit instead of scheduling a follow up appointment 3 weeks out. My blood work came back with extremely high blood sugar and that I have Diabetes. It would be good to actually call the patient not just send an alarming text.

Time to have COORDINATED care again.

Dr. Patel is so focused. She Is sharp and knows my issues. I never have to bring her up to date or repeat. She "listens" and we are able to discuss everything of concern. I leave feeling listened to. She also has a good sense of humor.

I'm sad I was assigned Dr. Patel. She seemed too busy didn't greet me upon entering and sounded like I was an inconvenience for my preventative annual check up. She wanted to make sure I knew my Insurance might not cover me for this visit as the most important detail. I also happened to be sick with the flu with severe symptoms and understand why antibiotics might not be necessary at this stage but she made me feel stupid for coming in and suggested relying on over the counter medication (which I was taking anyways!) for 2 more weeks before coming in again. I felt like I couldn't trust her and want to change doctors.

Dr. Was fantastic professional and thorough! Very sincere and caring! I'm very blessed to have UCSF as my primary care.

No complaints. Had a good visit.

Dismissed issues and a waste of and time. I have to spend another and more time to see my regular PCP. I am still very upset by this appointment

We spent 15 minutes talking with the assumption that my self diagnosed condition was correct. I had to insist that you could feel the distortion in my face before an actual physical exam was done. I was also told I would be sent a link to TMJ exercises. Haven't seen that yet maybe I'm not looking in the right place. I was told a referral was made and a phone number would be provided so I could follow up. Haven't seen that either. Again am I not looking in the right place?

Dr. Patel is an excellent listener. She is kind courteous and works expeditiously to explain and move forward with the process. Tests and procedures are scheduled immediately and her after visit summaries are available in record time. She is a star!

Dr. Patel was everything I was hoping for in a primary. She listened had reviewed and shared Information related to my medical problems and she offered explanations as to how she planned to proceed with my care. I really feel I'm in competent care.

Dr Patel was fantastic. I have already recommended her to a friend. She was efficient without being pushy she listened to all my concerns even when I voiced them a second time for clarity. She was knowledgeable and friendly and eased my mind about my concerns verified some of my personal choices and offered solutions to others. I'm a big fan.
