Crucial meds which I reported both to the intake nurse and provider for Lichen Schlerosus which is stressful as it is uncurable were not documented correctly in my file. My simple question/concern about low BP was documented in my file with an out of context quote which I don't appreciate nor is it relevant to have noted at all. My lesion under my left Breast was not documented correctly and marked On my left breast and the fact that the provider asked and received permission from me to take a photo of that lesion with her iphone during the visit was Not documented in the note file history of the visit. There are med list from over 12 years ago in my file I noted which are irrelevant and not documented correctly.

I came fasted because it was expected that I would need bloodwork at this appointment then was told they didn't have time to do it and would put in an order. Since I was seen late and had to wait so long I did not have time to go to all the way to the lab and this felt like a waste of my time (and fasting). Nothing worse than being hungry waiting around past a scheduled appointment time and then being told the clinic doesn't have time to do the test.

Dr. Basu's care is fantastic. I've been dealing with a challenging health situation in that we can't find the reason for some abnormal labs. Dr. Basu has been so diligent in collaborating with others including myself to find answers. I'm also in healthcare and am very reassured to have a provider like Dr. Basu.

I have an enormous amount of respect for Dr. Basu who has an extraordinary bedside manner and is extremely thorough. I have happily referred her to my husband and our friends and everyone raves about her!

This is all limited by the very short time allowed for these visits. I came in person but was not able to address everything in one visit and may need to schedule another. This is NOT the provider's fault but a bit frustrating and counterproductive. It would be good to be able to lay out the fullPicture rather than do this in oirces maybe over 1 or 2 months (I work and can't take a fHalf days off each week for medical things.once a month is about it for me.

I was convinced I needed an increase dosage of a medicine I was already taking to calm my generalized anxiety disorder fear or starting a new job. I was recommended two alternative medication best suited for my success and my first week went great.

Going to the doctor can be a scary experience. But going to Dr. Basu is something that I'm always looking forward because she makes the experience stellar. She always make me feel comfortable safe she carefully listens to me and lets me express myself and my concerns. Doctors like Dr. Basu make UCSF what medical care should be all about; effective; safe; people-centred; timely; equitable; integrated; and efficient. I trust her with my eyes closed. I am so happy and blessed to have UCSF care in my life and I can ever think getting treatment or care elsewhere. Thank you Dr. Basu for being such an amazing person!!!

Instead of listenting to my concerns and addressing my questions she focused in on symptoms that I have managed and were not my chief complaint - going so far as to prescribe medication that I told her I did not want/need and that I would not take. She also made referrals for providers that I have no interest in seeing and was reluctant to make a referral to the provider I asked of her. I have been seeing her for a few years now and this visit felt like she was learning everything about me all over again as if she had no background history. The visit also felt very rushed since I am only able to address 1-2 issues in these visits having her spend time on the issues that were my largest concern was very frustrating. Lastly she provided canned responses in regard to lifestyle (diet & exercise) that I had earlier in the appointment either addressed or mentioned as being difficult. I am planning to look for a new care provider moving forward.

    An excellent visit
    Dec 22, 2022
Dr seemed rushed was impatient and I didn't feel like I received a thorough appointment or screening. She said she has 1700 patients and that rubbed me the wrong way. Seems like way too many no wonder she was rushing me out of there and cutting me off. I go to the doctor once a year and I expect a level of service that I did not receive on this visit. I was really disappointed.

My provider seems to be good. However I always feel like she evades the pain medicine issue. The spine center instructed me to refer to my primary care physician for pain management and she always refers me back to the spine center for pain management. Now that I've had the brain surgery she is referring me to another specialist for pain management. I cannot afford to pay the specialist price and the response I get from the specialist is to refer to my primary care physician. All I need is to know how to manage my pain without paying a lot of money to UCSF.

I don't think that Dr Basu read my files and previous history with enough time to address my health with the best approach. I had to clarify a few times my concerns and reasoning for specific treatments. She was very polite and caring.

Dr Basu is very professional and an attentive active listener.

Provider did not provide clear instructions on how Albuterol would be administered at home and prescribed the wrong equipment (an inhaler instead of a nebulizer). Still haven't received correct prescription after sending a message over 24 hr ago.

Dr. Basu is professional knowledgeable kind and very thorough during visit. I appreciated how she summarized next steps regarding my health concerns. Thank you!

I scheduled this appointment with a new care provider since my former PCP had left the practice. When I met with her she informed me that I had a new PCP assigned to me and that i'd have to follow up with them. It would have been helpful to be told in advance that I had a new PCP and just scheduled an appointment with them instead.

I had a very pleasant visit with the doctor very very pleasant

Dr. Basu is a treasure. She approached our appointment like an old fashioned primary care physician- listening to me throughout and exhibiting true compassion warmth and medical wisdom. She was organized and thorough. It may sound strange but I am thrilled to have met her and so excited that she will be my doctor. When doctor's like Dr. Basu are given the leadership and systemic support and the time to practice medicine we all benefit. I can't say enough about the success of this initial visit. If there is a significant way to honor her work please do.

Provider was friendly and l listened but I accomplished nothing in the visit. Everything required imaging and then another visit- even a piece of glass stuck in the bottom of my foot that I needed removed required an ultrasound - and a referral to podiatry. My previous doctor would have removed the splinter of glass instead of referring me to an ultrasound bc of bleeding risk on the bottom sole of the foot! What ?!??!. I explained I have a high deductible plan so doing multiple appointments will cost atleast /visit and more for imaging- probably totaling over - so I'll just go home and ask my family to remove the glass for me. I don't know why I need to see a primary care doctor. It was a huge waste of time and my co-pay.

15 minutes for a first time visit was insufficient. Follow up months later was scheduled. I'm grateful for county medical care but this is not good. There was just time for her to read my chart defer a couple concerns and leave me feeling pretty brushed off. I'm sure she's overbooked etc. And probably doesn't dislike me but I couldn't help wondering.
    May 19, 2022
I had tested positive for COVID and my provider was very patient listening to my symptoms and concerns and she ensured that I was able to receive my medication on time with a pharmacy that could fill the order.

Great care - the duo team with resident and Dr. Basu was a new experience. Both excellent.
    Mar 30, 2022
She talked to me about her thoughts on a diagnosis she listened to mine! She got everything scheduled and hopefully we'll figure out what's going on but this is the first time I truly feel like we're going to get answers and that I can hopefully soon be well. All my previous doctors need to come take a training class with Dr. Basu.
