Priyanka Jha

Dr. Priyanka Jha is a radiologist who specializes in using ultrasound to diagnose and treat many conditions in adults and children. For pregnant patients, she uses a variety of imaging techniques to detect fetal abnormalities, especially those of the brain, spine and thorax.

Jha's research focuses on cancer imaging, especially for hepatocellular carcinoma (the most common type of liver cancer) and pancreatic cancers. She is also interested in women's imaging, particularly MRI applications for pelvic disorders and obstetrics.

Jha earned her medical degree at Maulana Azad Medical College in India. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California, Davis, followed by a fellowship in abdominal imaging at UCSF.

Jha serves as a reviewer for the medical journals Radiology and European Radiology. She is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society and Society of Abdominal Radiology. The UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators has honored her with its Excellence in Teaching Award.
