Dr. Truyet Tran is an optometrist who cares for patients with a variety of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. She addresses her patients' vision needs by prescribing glasses, contact lenses and optical magnifiers. In addition to being the primary provider at UCSF's Vision Optical Clinic, Tran is the lead optometrist at UCSF's Low Vision Clinic.
Tran earned her doctor of optometry degree with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. She completed a residency at the Portland VA Health Care System, where she received advanced training in primary eye care and low vision rehabilitation. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
In her free time, Tran enjoys entertaining family and friends, trying new restaurants, and exploring the outdoors. She has two fluffy, fun-loving corgis, Stomper and Peanut. She and her husband plan to hike and camp their way through all of the U.S. national parks.
