Dr. W. Michael Korn is an expert in managing gastrointestinal cancers. He performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, and administers medical treatments, such as chemotherapy.
In addition to caring for patients, Korn is the lead investigator of clinical trials exploring new treatments for gastrointestinal cancer. His laboratory is involved in research to develop combination therapies for gastrointestinal cancer and breast cancer, based on the analysis of signal transduction pathways (how molecular signals pass from the outside to the inside of a cell, evoking a cellular response).
A native of Germany, Korn earned his medical degree at the Philipps University of Marburg and University of Düsseldorf in Germany. He completed his medical training at Evangelisches Krankenhaus Dinslaken and the West German Cancer Center – University Hospital Essen.
