Judy Patt is a social worker who cares for patients and their families at all stages of diagnosis and treatment at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has more than 25 years of experience in caring for adults and children, working in both hospital and clinic settings. She is also engaged in special projects involving oncology social work at UCSF.
Patt has a particular interest in addressing the needs of family caregivers and the changing roles that can occur with a serious illness. She is also interested in helping patients and caregivers who need parenting support while coping with the profound emotional, social and financial implications that often accompany a cancer diagnosis.
Patt appreciates working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is committed to collaborating with colleagues to deliver the best possible care. She is inspired every day by the courage and resilience of her patients and their families.
Patt earned a master's degree in social work at San José State University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and Association of Oncology Social Work.
