Pronouns: She | Her | Hers

Julie Smith is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients with cancer, particularly those with blood, lung or breast cancer. In both her daily practice and her research, she focuses on a holistic approach to care and collaboration between provider and patient.

Smith earned her master's degree in nursing, with a focus on ambulatory care, at Western University of Health Sciences. She completed a second master's degree in the adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner program at New York University.

Earlier in her career, Smith trained and worked at NYU Langone Medical Center and NYU Langone Health's Perlmutter Cancer Center, where she specialized in treating blood disorders. She later joined the bone marrow transplant team at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she focused on blood cancers and CAR T-cell therapy (a treatment that involves changing the patient's own immune cells so they can better fight cancer).
