Susan Smith, MD

Family practice physician

Dr. Susan Smith, chief faculty practices officer and senior vice president for UCSF Health, is a family medicine clinician and cares for patients at the UCSF Family Medicine Center at Lakeshore. She cares for patients of all ages. She is particularly interested in improving the experience of health care for patients, staff and physicians. She is board certified in family medicine.

Smith came to UCSF Health from Palo Alto Medical Foundation. In addition to her family medicine practice there, she held a number of important leadership roles, most recently as medical director. Smith earned her medical degree from Northwestern Medical School and completed her postdoctoral training at UCSF. She is an associate clinical professor of family medicine.
