Choose UCSF and Hill

You can choose UCSF and Hill Physicians if you get your health care in San Francisco and you're a member of an HMO such as Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross (California Care), Blue Shield, CIGNA, Health Net and United/PacifiCare, including Medicare HMO plans. UCSF's affiliation with Hill Physicians also may affect you if you're a member of a point of service (POS) plan.

Members of preferred provider organization (PPO) plans that are contracted with UCSF can get care from a UCSF doctor without selecting Hill Physicians as their medical group.

UCSF is not an "in network" provider for Brown & Toland Medical Group patients. Referrals to most UCSF specialists from Brown & Toland primary care doctors require prior authorization. Exceptions are pediatric specialty and obstetrical care. Those patients may see a UCSF specialist without prior authorization.

Talk to your HMO or POS plan, your doctor and your employer's benefits representative to find out more.
