Neurology and Neurosurgery

UCSF is No. 2 in the nation and best in California for neurology and neurosurgery, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking. Our team of world-renowned neurologists, neurosurgeons and neuroscientists works together to quickly translate research discoveries into new and better treatments for patients.

We're equipped to treat all neurologic disorders, from routine issues to the most rare and complex conditions. And we’re constantly pushing the frontiers of what’s possible, whether by pioneering surgical techniques to remove brain tumors that were previously inoperable or developing drugs to reverse the damage of multiple sclerosis.

Our many specialty services include the largest brain tumor program in the nation, the largest stroke and cerebrovascular program in the state, and the only comprehensive center for memory disorders in Northern California.

We are part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences.
