Accommodations

Patients and their families traveling to UCSF Medical Center may contact us for information regarding short-term and longer-term lodging. Although we don't have on-site housing, we maintain listings of hotel and motel accommodations. For information regarding hotels, motels and short-term apartment rentals, please visit our campus Housing Office Web site. You also may call our Physicians Referral Center at (888) 689-UCSF or send us an email to referral.center@ucsfmedctr.org for assistance.

Please make your lodging arrangements as far in advance as possible because San Francisco hotels tend to be busy.

Young patients, age 18 and younger, who live more than 50 miles from the medical center, may be eligible for rooms at the Family House or Ronald McDonald House. For more information, please call Care Coordination at (415) 353-2655.

  • Family House: Family House provides free, temporary housing for families with children diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening illness.
  • Ronald McDonald House: Ronald McDonald House accommodates up to 20 families and provides private sleeping areas, communal dining and living space.
