Breast Cancer Prevention Program
The Breast Cancer Prevention Program (BCPP) is a prevention and screening clinic created by the UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center and the National Center of Excellence in Women's Health. This innovative clinic provides access to experts in breast cancer prevention, including doctors, nurse practitioners, cancer risk and genetic counselors, researchers and a dietitian.
The program was designed to meet the needs of women at increased risk of developing breast cancer due to family medical history, previous diagnosis or difficult breast exams caused by fibrocystic breasts. Based on your personal and family history, experts can provide you with a medical profile and appropriate follow-up recommendations.
Topics addressed during a visit include family history of breast cancer, nutrition and screening options and frequency.
