Health Library

Health education is an important service we
provide our patients and the community. This Health Library
is an online resource to supplement information your doctors,
nurses and pharmacists may provide. Our library includes
a medical
dictionary and calendar
of our health events. We also have an A-Z list
of conditions and treatments.
We have news
about research advances and treatments, patient
education materials and listings
of other helpful Web sites such as the National Institutes of Health's
MedlinePlus and its
drug database.
Visit our online bookstore to buy books
written and recommended by our doctors, nurses and others.
Other resources include the UCSF Kalmanovitz Library,
at 530 Parnassus Ave., that provides links
to consumer health sites.
At Mount Zion, the H.M. Fishbon Memorial Library assists patients
with health information through its service called
HealthWorks.
Journals, medical references, books and other resources are available to the public.
The library, at 1600 Divisadero St., Room A-116, is a participating library
of the National Library of Medicine's Loansome
Doc program that provides copies of journal articles
for a $15 fee.
