The Gynecologic Dysplasia Clinic at UCSF Medical Center offers state-of-the-art care for women with dysplasia, including cervical dysplasia as well as genital warts and related conditions.
Cervical dysplasia is a pre-cancerous condition, typically caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), and often detected by an abnormal Pap smear. Vulvar disease or pain also is associated with cervical dysplasia.
We provide a full range of screening and treatment options including colposcopy, a visual examination of the cervix; loop excision to remove abnormal tissue; and laser therapy.
We also offer the ThinPrep Pap test, an improvement on the conventional Pap test that was approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration.
