Bennett Lareau-Meredith

Bennett Lareau-Meredith is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients with a variety of reproductive health needs. They have a particular interest and expertise in caring for transgender and nonbinary people, as well as other members of underserved and marginalized communities. Lareau-Meredith provides a wide range of gynecologic services, from routine preventive care to insertion of IUDs and Nexplanon (a contraceptive implant) to endometrial biopsy (a diagnostic procedure in which a tissue sample is taken from the uterine lining) and colposcopy (a magnified examination of the cervix after an abnormal pap smear). Their approach to care is patient-centered and trauma-informed (rooted in an understanding of the possible influences of an individual's or community's trauma history).

Lareau-Meredith earned a master's degree in nursing, with a dual emphasis on adult and women's health, from the MGH Institute of Health Professions.

Lareau-Meredith has served as a guest lecturer on caring for transgender, queer, lesbian and bisexual patients at the MGH Institute of Health Professions and UCSF School of Nursing. They also served as a consultant to Tufts University's student health services on improving care for transgender students.
