Sonoma Valley Hospital

Learn about UCSF Health’s partnership with Sonoma Valley Hospital, providing enhanced emergency services and outpatient diagnostics in Sonoma.

In March 2018, UCSF Health and Sonoma Valley Hospital (SVH) signed an agreement to create an integrated health care network. SVH is a district hospital that provides general and acute care services to Sonoma Valley residents.

As part of the agreement, UCSF helps SVH with appointing a chief medical officer (CMO). The CMO collaborates with the hospital's medical directors and serves on the administration team, overseeing existing services and assisting with the launch of new services and programs. Working closely with UCSF Health's chief medical officer, the SVH CMO identifies new opportunities for collaboration between the two hospitals. The SVH CMO also serves as UCSF faculty.

Additionally, the UCSF Department of Neurology supports the SVH emergency department through telemedicine services and oversees its certified Acute Stroke Ready Program. These services help SVH doctors assess complex neurological problems.

Outpatient Diagnostic Center

The SVH Outpatient Diagnostic Center opened in August 2022, giving UCSF Health patients in the North Bay access to the latest diagnostic services close to home. These include 3D mammography (with no-cost mammograms provided to uninsured and underinsured people in the community), ultrasound, X-rays, DEXA (bone density) scans, CT scans and 3T MRI (a form of MRI that produces more accurate results in less time).

The Outpatient Diagnostic Center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here's how to schedule an imaging test:

  • MRI, CT or ultrasound: Call (707) 935-5020.
  • Mammography or DEXA (bone density) scan: Call (707) 935-5215.
  • X-ray: Just walk in; no appointment is needed.
