Our mental and behavioral health services
At UCSF Health, you'll find the full continuum of care to meet you where you are in your recovery. We offer 24/7 assessments and prompt admissions to get you the help you need as quickly as possible.
Our services include:
Acute inpatient care. We offer crisis stabilization services for adults (18 and older) with severe behavioral and emotional disorders. Services include medication management and psychiatric counseling.
Partial hospitalization program (PHP). Our PHP is a highly structured, full-day outpatient program that can provide an alternative to or help people transition from inpatient hospitalization.
Intensive outpatient program (IOP). Our IOP is a half-day outpatient program that provides continued support and allows you to manage daily responsibilities, such as work or school.
Tailored programs. We offer mental health services tailored to the unique needs of specific groups, such as the LGBTQ+ community, older adults and women.
Specialized treatments. We offer advanced care for people with depression and other behavioral health conditions that haven't responded to other treatments. These therapies include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS). We also provide specialty care for patients experiencing weight changes or binge eating due to psychiatric symptoms or medications.
