Neurointensive Care Unit
The UCSF Neurointensive Care Unit is one of the largest and most sophisticated facilities of its kind in the nation. This highly specialized unit is dedicated to caring for critically ill, neurologically impaired adult patients as they undergo complex surgical procedures and interventional treatments. Our experts focus on close monitoring of each patient's neurological status. We also provide care and support for patients going through the organ donation process and for their families.
Our team consists of neurologists, neurosurgeons, critical care physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, patient care assistants, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians and social workers.
