The Optical Dispensary – Mission Bay Fourth St. is located in the Gateway Medical Building on our Mission Bay campus. We’re a one-stop shop for patients who need eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, protective eyewear or accessories.
The Optical Dispensary carries frames for people of all ages, with an emphasis on pediatrics (including infants), so parents will find a large selection to meet their children's needs.
Appointments
To view our collection of eyeglasses or purchase eyewear, please call 415-502-2066 and schedule an appointment.
Walk-in visits are also welcome, but we can’t guarantee availability.
We welcome self-pay patients, as well as those with VSP insurance. Outside prescriptions are welcome.
Eye exams
Eye exams are not offered at the Optical Dispensary – Mission Bay Fourth St. For an eye exam, please call 415-353-2800 or schedule online to make an appointment with a UCSF optometrist or ophthalmologist.

Parking
Several parking lots and garages are nearby, including a large garage with an entrance at 1835 Owens St. Valet service is available, with a drop-off circle in front of the Gateway Medical Building. Donations
The Augie Fund at the All May See Foundation ensures that vulnerable pediatric patients at UCSF receive glasses, contact lenses, and specialized vision care they need — regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
Since launching in 2013, the Augie Fund has provided over 3,700 pairs of glasses and contact lenses to Bay Area children.
