Aleena Khan is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients going through treatment for cancer. She specializes in solid tumor care, particularly in the breast, and novel targeted treatments. Her role includes managing short- and long-term treatment, providing symptom management and coordinating care among all of a patient's providers. She is passionate about educating patients on treatments backed by scientific evidence and enjoys supporting patients and their families through every stage of their cancer journeys.
In research, Khan focuses on improving quality of life for patients being treated for cancer, particularly by managing treatment-related side effects and reducing hospitalizations. She is especially interested in supportive care strategies that help patients better tolerate therapy.
Khan earned her doctor of nursing practice degree from Samuel Merritt University.
Khan is proud to be part of a team that values innovation, equity, and care centered on individual needs and preferences. She has contributed to quality improvement initiatives to reduce chemotherapy-related hospital admissions and to manage symptoms more effectively. She is also passionate about supporting the next generation of health care providers, including through mentorship.
Outside of work, Khan enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, going to the gym, and spending time with family and friends. She can often be found with a book in hand or trying to perfect her chai recipe.
