About me

Dr. Alexander Lam is a radiologist who provides minimally-invasive interventions for a wide range of diseases. He specializes in interventional oncology (advanced, image-guided cancer therapies), peripheral arterial disease (circulatory disorder restricting blood to the head, organs and limbs), chronic venous insufficiency (improper functioning of the vein valves in the leg) and other conditions involving blood vessels throughout the body. His expertise includes embolization (cutting off blood flow to an area with a tumor or other abnormal tissue), arterial revascularization (restoring blood flow to arteries where it has been restricted), and venous reconstruction.

Lam has been a co-investigator on multiple studies on the use of novel therapies to diagnose and treat disorders. His research interests include oncology, quantitative imaging (using images to assess disease), and quality improvement in radiology. His primary goal as a physician is to provide new therapies to patients whose conditions would otherwise be undertreated.

Lam earned his medical degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California, Irvine, followed by a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Virginia.
