About me

Pronouns: She | Her | Hers

Ali Starling is a nurse-midwife who cares for pregnant patients before, during and after labor and delivery. She has special interests in shared decision-making, birth preferences (customized plans for managing pain and other issues) and trauma-informed care (an approach that considers the effects of past negative experiences). Her specialties include providing mental health services to meet patients' needs in the periods before and after childbirth.

Starling earned her master's degree in nursing and midwifery at UCSF, where she also completed a post-master's certificate in psychiatry. She earned a master of public health degree, with a focus on maternal and child health, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

When not at work, Starling finds happiness outside, in the mountains.
