Amelia Komp

Nurse practitioner

Amelia Komp is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients with head and neck cancer. She provides continuity of care while patients receive radiation treatment and afterward in subsequent months and years.

Komp earned a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in health care and social issues at the University of California, San Diego. While studying at UC San Diego, she participated in Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences, a mentored program of the National Cancer Institute. She then completed an accelerated program to earn nursing and master’s of nursing degrees at the University of San Francisco, working as an inpatient nurse for several years afterward. She completed advanced training to become an acute care nurse practitioner at UCSF.

In her free time, Komp enjoys practicing yoga and pilates. She also loves to hike and travel.
