About me

Dr. Bianca Bromberger is a cardiac surgeon who cares for patients with advanced heart and lung disease who need complex surgical therapies, including mechanical circulatory support (devices that assist organ function) and organ transplantation. She is dedicated to combining technical expertise with compassion – empathetically helping patients and their families comprehend and navigate treatment decisions. Her goal is to ensure that her patients not only receive the highest level of surgical expertise but also feel supported and understood throughout their care journey.

Bromberger earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a residency in general surgery at NewYork – Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, where she also pursued advanced training in surgical critical care and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (technology that does the work of the heart and lungs while these organs recover adequate function). She completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at UCSF.

In addition to caring for patients, Bromberger is committed to surgical education and mentorship. She enjoys helping to train the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons.
