About me
Dr. Bradley Ekstrand is a genitourinary oncologist who has particular interest and expertise in treating patients with lymphoma and genitourinary cancers. His background in the molecular biology of cancer gives him a unique perspective, combining a scientist's view of disease with a doctor's expertise, to bring the best care to patients with cancer.
Ekstrand earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, where he also completed a doctorate in cancer biology. During his doctoral studies, he worked in the lab of acclaimed cancer genetics researcher Dr. Eric Fearon, where he focused on tumor suppressor genes. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine. During his fellowship, he worked extensively in lymphoma with Drs. Sandra Horning and Gilbert Chu.
Ekstrand is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and Association of Northern California Oncologists, where he serves as vice president. Through his work with these organizations, he advocates for high-quality cancer care for all patients.
A native of Boulder, Colorado, Ekstrand enjoys outdoor recreation, particularly alpine skiing, swimming and long-distance running. Outside of work, he devotes most of his time to family activities with his wife and three children. An avid sports fan, he follows Stanford athletics, European soccer leagues and the Denver Broncos.
