About me
Dr. Christina Mangurian is a psychiatrist who cares for pregnant women and women who have recently given birth. She serves as vice chair for diversity and health equity at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences.
Mangurian's research focuses on reducing health care disparities among racially diverse populations with severe mental illness. She is also interested in studying ways to support the advancement of women and minorities within medicine.
Mangurian earned her medical degree from UCSF. She completed a residency in psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and a fellowship in public psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, part of the Columbia Department of Psychiatry. She completed a master of advanced study degree in clinical research at UCSF.
Mangurian received the UCSF Chancellor Award for Advancement of Women in 2017 and the UCSF Distinction in Faculty Mentoring Award in 2018. She has been published extensively, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association and American Journal of Psychiatry.
